His Warrior, Katherine Murray -art infused Photographer. But Who is she ? The daughter of the MOST HIGH KING first and foremost. Artist second. Katherine Murray, born in Danbury,CT in 1973.Her love of art began at an early age. She was invited to special art classes in grade school and had an unique fashion style that defined her individuality throughout her adolescence. Often called "weird" or viewed as a"only you can pull that off " kind of girl. Constantly creating, she pursued correspondance art classes. It wasn't until 1996, when she started working for a non-profit organization “Escape to the Arts” She was under the mentorship of Sharon Kaufman when she realized who she was, " God's Little Warrior Artist". She lead a face painting team while working at "Escape", but Art was not just something she would do for enjoyment. It was a tool to reach young people. It was there that God revealed to her a major purpose in her life. KIDS AND ART. The program strived to reach all children with art of all backgrounds from the inner city to the suburbs. In New Milford, CT in 1999 she worked for a local teen center teaching visual arts to area teenagers. In addition to the art , she taught basic life skills and self worth to the young people she mentored. Later moving to Georgia
she continued her career as an artist working for an Alternative school as an art teacher using art as therapy. The mission was to use the visual arts to help young girls tap into their emotions and express themselves in a creative manner relieving them of some of the pain due to their daily hardships. There was art, but there was more bonding and relationship building than anything. Most importantly sharing the love of Christ.
The next step of her art education came with photography, her “new found love” Katherine graduated from North Georgia Technical College with a 4.0 GPA in 2002. She since has combined her love of art with her technical skill as a photographer. Some of her endeavors have included travel to Ghana, India and Haiti as the teams photographer. Her work goes beyond photographing. There are several tasks that need to be taken care , but her favorite part is working with the children, she uses her art to reach the children who do not speak the same language. Painting a child’s face , creating a mural in a village wall or photographing a shy beautiful sweet soul can go a long way when there is a language barrier. Nothing lights up the world like the smile of a child. Kids of the world and art are her deepest passions...
She went through some personal struggles in life and found herself off course .God reunited her with her art mentor again in another town to work at the "Village center for the Arts" She was ignited again with the fire of the Lord and her kindred spirit, Sharon . “More than mere teachers, mentors are often emancipators, freeing artists from poor technique, clouded vision and personal uncertainty.” – Paul Soderberg
Her desire is to change the World with Art and The love of Jesus.
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ to do good works, which God prepeared in advance for us to do.
